With its dramatic coastlines, dark skies, and diverse wildlife, Cornwall is one the best places in the whole of the UK for photographers. Being incredibly lucky to have this on my doorstep combined with my experience and years of practice I want to offer the ability for you to join me 1 to 1 where I can help teach you techniques and skills to advance your own photography. I offer this service across all genres of my photography, from spending a night under the stars learning astrophotography to hiking the coast path in search of stunning seascapes. Below are details of my two most popular workshops that I offer but if there is anything else you think I could help you with then please get in touch!
The Milky Way Above Cornwall
In 2021 West Penwith was awarded and named as an official Internation Dark Sky Park. This makes the southwestern tip of Cornwall one of the country's best places to photograph the night sky and Milky Way. If you join me for one of my astrophotography workshops I'll guide you through each stage required to capture amazing images. We'll go through the process of planning, equipment, shooting and then the necessary post-processing.
The workshop will take about 4 hours on location but will be as long as we need to go through everything. Below you'll find a list of possible dates for this workshop. During the earlier months of the year, it will be very anti-social hours with the Milky Way being most visible in the early hours before sunrise but through the year it gets earlier becoming most visible just after sunset. For this workshop my favourite location requires a mile round trip walk over rough surfaces on the coast path, if this would be a problem let me know and we'll make alternative arrangements.

This fantastic image was taken by James Kitto during one of my Milky Way workshops in 2018 at the end of a fantastic night shooting on the cliffs.
West Penwith Seascapes
Ever since my early teens, I've been exploring the coastline of West Penwith with my camera. Ever since first seeing images of Ross Hoddinott's, I've been fascinated with capturing seascapes using long exposure. If you are intrigued about long exposure and seascape photography then I offer 1 to 1 workshops to help teach
the techniques I've learnt along with anything else that can improve your images. Throughout the winter months, the coastline is at the mercy of the Atlantic and the storms that it brings.
These are spectacular and one of my favourite things to photograph.
Together with a dramatic setting it makes for incredible images.
These storms are captured using different techniques and settings than idyllic sunset images, something that we will cover during the workshop.
